You have to have meetings at work—to brainstorm, to review goals and deadlines, even just to check in with fellow employees. But do meetings have to waste your time? Not if you do them right they don’t.
Let’s start with the day of the week. If at all possible, avoid Monday. It’s a hard day for people to concentrate and get back into the swing of things. And how about uninvited attendees? It’s hard to be firm, but you have to be: Only those who are necessary to the goal of the meeting should be in the room.
